This preserve is made up of a 67.3-acre parcel on Square Hill, just off Allen Road in Wolfeboro.
This property was purchased in 2002 by Linda Baldwin’s Single Rose LLC with the long-range plan of having an environmentally friendly farm upon which to raise alpacas.
This large parcel includes the top of Square Hill and affords expansive views of the Lakes Region, including Lake Wentworth, Lake Winnipesaukee, Belknap Mountain, the Ossipee and Squam ranges, and beyond.
Bounded by Hersey (Tyler) Brook on the northwest, the lot is an environmentally important part of the Lake Wentworth/Crescent Lake watershed. Its close proximity to Sargent’s Pond and the discovery of a rare plant species reinforce the need to protect this property from development.
Upon Linda’s death in 2002, the Lake Wentworth Foundation became the owner of the property.
